ABOUT ME:

My Mission Statement:  To inspire people to go for their dreams, to honor themselves and their
values, and express them through their work – building successful values-driven people and
businesses that change the world.

How I Got Here, and What I Do:  For about 20 years I worked in the corporate world. I was
also doing personal growth work and went from 'just a job to pay the bills' to more values-driven
corporations and finally non-profits.  There were things about both that I liked - the efficiency and
effectiveness and go-for-it attitude of corporations and the values of non-profits, and I was having
trouble finding both in an organization, and that's what I wanted.

Before I was a coach I had a website that was brilliant.  It was like a light that expressed my
personal mission.  It said things like "Who you already are is Beautiful and Valuable.  Believe in
Yourself.  Know...You Are Valuable and Good Enough just the way you are."  I told everyone about
my website and they told other people.  I got e-mails and thank yous and I was loving it.  I was
making my difference.  I was having my positive impact.  I was coaching, even though I didn't know
what coaching was yet.  I was inspiring growth and self value, and I loved it.

Then I got laid off, and through a series of miracles I went to coaching school and I turned my
mission into my business... guess what?  Instead of trusting myself and doing what I knew, I started
doing what I thought I should or at least 'the
way' I thought I should.  I tried to be appropriate and
fit for you and be professional.  Boy did that dim my light and make it hard for me.  Something
huge was missing... me, my way... I was not trusting and valuing myself and my wisdom.  When it
became "business" I forgot me and my way (many of us do that).

I am very serious, pragmatic, down to earth, and idealistic...and...I have the same childlike
curiosity, magic and wonder that I had as a child.  What I love is making things simple and fun.
Those same values and beliefs that I solidly knew when I was 4, before I went to school, are still in
me.  My old website and way of being, when it wasn't "my business" (she says in a serious voice),
expressed those old values, and were easy because I did it my way - effective and easy for me.

That reminds me of John Maxwell.  He was asked to write a book on business ethics.  He
responded with, "There's no such thing as business ethics - there's only ethics."

I need to remember, and I remind my clients through all I do... trust yourself.  Do it your way.  Not
the small, limited, scared, I should 'try to fit in and do it the way they tell me' way but the way you
did when you were 4 and someone asked if you were great, and you answered confidently and
truthfully, "Yes!!!" and you knew it.

I read a ton of books, I take classes, etc.  What I see the more that I study is that it's all the same.
I've been studying personal development, business success, self help, and spirituality since I was
17... not just studying it but working it.  The more I study the more I realize each is just a different
way to look at the same thing.  Many times the problem in our business, is more of a problem within
ourselves
, and whatever part we improve, the rest gets better too.

It all comes down to is the same things that we already know - vision/focus on the positive, do the
personal and professional work, and open up to ideas, the possibilities of how it could work.  It's so
simple, and we get in our way... my job is to help us get out of our way and do what we are here to
do - to live as ourselves beautifully and brilliantly, and contribute to the world in a way that inspires
us and brings us joy and a sense of purpose... and is effective and efficient.

You'll notice that when I share in my mission statement that it's not "you" it's "people".  We are in
this together.  I'm not going to support you at my expense, and I'm not going to support me at your
expense.  There is a new way to do business.  It's valuing who we are, building our selves, creating
partnership and community... it is up to us to transform the way things are in the world, as we value
our humanity, honor our selves, our talents, our beauty, our wisdom... we build a better world.

Oh... I'm Suppose To Be Talking About Me...

Coaching isn't some job I do on the side... it's who I am.  I read the same books now for my
business that I used to read because I love them... human potential!  It's fabulous.  So, this is just
me.  This is what I do... it's my gift and my talent.

It's time we trust ourselves, our way, our values and live them... and build the world we desire,
within our hearts and souls, to live in.  The Opportunity, is to be at choice and be the power in our
world... and to have the Adventure of living our life our way - based upon our highest dreams,
visions, values and possibilities.  That's "The Adventure of Your Life" that's what I want for us and
that's what I work toward.

So, are you ready?  Me too.  Let's do it.  Let's build the kind of world we want to live in... the kind of
world that will help us to thrive.

"Be Some One Amazing... Be Your Self!"  <-- That's my line.  We are so amazing, it's time we live it!
